What we do

There is so much work that goes into a weekly food run both on the front line and behind the scenes.

Volunteers in our head office work through all their spare time and more to secure donations, find enough volunteers for each shift, and keep everybody up-to-date.

Our volunteers on the front line donate their evenings to walk Manchester City Centre (often carting heavy loads of food and clothing) to serve food to those who may otherwise go hungry.

On a typical day we will serve:

  • a hot meal either made by our volunteers or donated,
  • a cold snack, usually a sandwich,
  • crisps, fruit, buns and/or cake, and
  • tea, coffee, and bottled soft drinks including water

After food has been given we allow our friends to collect some clothing and toiletries. What is offered is entirely dependant on what is donated.
